Fabulis OD®

Safe and reliable for the plant.
Easy to handle.

Fabulis OD® has proven itself as a growth regulator and is versatile in cereals. The active ingredient is formulated with a patented oil dispersion and is safe and easy to dose. Fabulis OD® inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis – flexibly timed between BBCH 29 and 39 – for short, stable stalks and a reliable harvest.

Advantages of Fabulis OD®

Secures the harvest

The growth regulator reduces the internode length and thus the growth height of the cereal plants. This stabilizes the stalks and ensures yields and quality.

Fast effect

The active ingredient is absorbed systemically and achieves its rapid effect on the internodes by inhibiting the plant’s own production of growth hormones (gibberellins).

Active ingredient easy to use

Fabulis OD® contains prohexadione calcium (50 g/L). This active ingredient is less dependent on temperature* and sun or light, so it can be used flexibly even when the sky is overcast. The effect starts at temperatures as low as +2°C. For a sufficient effect, 3 days with at least 8°C should be reached. Temperatures of 12-20°C are ideal, but 25°C should not be exceeded.

* Do not spray on plants in stress situations, e.g. water stress, imminent frost or large temperature fluctuations (> 15°C).

Patented, safe formulation

The oil dispersion can be dosed easily and safely. The active ingredient is only activated when water is added to the spray mixture. (This minimizes risks for the environment and users).

Authorized for many cereals

Fabulis OD® can be used for the production of seed and malting barley.

Wide application window

Application can be planned flexibly from the end of tillering or beginning of the shoot to the flag leaf stadium. The ideal application date is BBCH 31-32. For a good effect, the application window should be between BBCH 30 and 37.

Efficient effect

The application rate varies from 0.5 to 1.5 L/ha depending on the crop and risk assessment in the field. It can be used alone, in mixtures or in splitting. In most cases, 1.0 l/ha is fitting.

Miscibility

Fabulis OD® can be mixed with fungicides, insecticides and growth regulators such as ethephon or chlormequat (chloride). Do not mix with products containing carfentrazone and bifenox. Mixtures with products containing florasulam may cause leaf whitening in winter barley. In mixtures with fungicides containing triazole, the application rate can be reduced by up to 25%; at least 0.6 l/ha should be used. Mixtures with AHL are possible, but not in every situation, please contact us.

No residue issues

Meets the high requirements of the food chain. The withdrawal period is covered by the vegetation period between application and harvest or the specification of a withdrawal period is not necessary.

How does Fabulis OD® work?

In Fabulis OD® contains the active ingredient prohexadione in the form of prohexadione-calcium salt (50 g/I). To take effect quickly, the calcium is split off from the prohexadione and bound to the ammonium sulphate, which is contained in sufficient quantities in Fabulis OD® (100 g/I). This process is activated when water is added (mixing of the spray mixture). The active ingredient prohexadione is absorbed systemically into the plant and inhibits gibbellerin biosynthesis, resulting in rapid stalk shortening and stalk firming of the cereal plants. Fabulis OD® can be used in a wide application window from the end of tillering/beginning of the shoot to the flag leaf stadium.
